Quad State Bass Club Team Tournament returned to Lake of the Ozarks, Osage Beach Missouri April 15-16 2016 for its spring event. The lake was in great shape and the weather was perfect. Lake of the Ozarks is a great fishery and the hospitality was second to non. The team of Victor Hawkins and Keith Hawkins of the Fishin Tradition Bass Club, Jasper, Texas won the event with a two day total of 28.08 pounds. The team lead the event after Saturday and held on win. Victor Hawkins was also crowned Quad State Bass Club Angler of the Year for 2016. Congratulations on a great win. Second place went to Michael Carter Jr and Charlie Cadenhead Sr of the Sol Pro Bassmasters of Kansas City, Mo. with a two day total of 26.32. The team also had big bass of the event with a 6.27 largemouth. Great job see you in Dallas.
Charlie and Clara Starks of the Starks Bass Anglers of Springfield, Mo. won the Quad State Bass Club Team Tournament held on Beaver Lake in Rogers, Ark. This husband and wife team have been members of Quad State Bass Club for many years and this was not their first victory. Charlie and Clara are know for their hard fishing and fight to the end spirit. The team finished Saturday with 4 fish weighing 4.83. This put the team right in the middle of the pack as Beaver was fishing tough for all teams with 9.87 leading the first day. On Sunday the team had 3 fish weighing 6.93 for a total of 11.76 with a 4.16 big bass propelling the team to a hard fought win. Many teams figured them out on Sunday while others could not hold on. Second place went to Eugene Moore lll and Bradley Shell of Metro Area Bass Club with 11.56, third place went to Paul Lewis and James Isom of 21st Century Bass Club with 11.03, fourth place went to Harold Ford and Ken Ford of Metro Area Bass Club with 10.90 and fifth place went to Tarrick Rogue and Elvin Duncan of Dallas Bass Hookers with 9.71. The 2014 Quad State Bass Club fall team tournament will be held on Beaver Lake in Rogers Arkansas October 18-19, 2014. This event will be hosted by the Metro Area Bass Club of Little Rock, AR. The Quad State Bass Club Team Tournament spring event found Lake Ray Hubbard near Dallas Texas over seven foot low and windy. Angler would be challenged but Ray Hubbard shined as usual. Tyrone Phillips and Fred Martin of the Metro Area Bass Club of Little, Rock, AR. would best the field with a Quad State Bass Club record setting two day stringer of 56.49 pounds. Their 36.91 sack on Sunday shattered all records not to mention their 10.40 kicker. Tyrone also became Quad State Bass Club Angler of the Year. Second place went to Charlie and Clara Starks of the Starks Bass Angler club from Springfield, Mo. Their 16.96 barely raised a brow on Saturday as a 25 pound and two 20 pound stringer were weighed in. But Sunday Chalie and Clara bought 25.62 pounds to the scales including a 10.01 kicker giving them a two day total of 42.58. Lake Ray Hubbard was truely a test which most of the field passed with flying color. The tournament paid seven place and 30 pounds was not enough. Over 600 pounds of fish were weighed including a third 10.55 cought by Dennis Bush of the Dallas Bass Hooker of Dallas, Texas. Quad State Bass Club would like to welcome S.B.A of Springfield, Mo. to the family. Club founder and president Charlie Starks is a long time member of Quad State Bass Club and along with his wife Clara have not missed many Quad State Bass Club events. We are very happy his organization chose Quad State Bass Club and hope this is a start of a long relationship. The club was started to promote the sport of fishing as well as reach out to the younger generation of anglers interested in competitive fishing. Charlie has been fishing tournament since 1978 all over the country and will bring a host of knowledge to the club. S.B.A. currently have about a dozen members and will compete at the Quad State Bass Club Team Tournament at Lake Ray Hubbard April 5-6,2014. They will bring first time members to the tournament. The Quad State board of directors met in Shrevepor, La. Saturday January 18, 2013 at the Holiday Inn Financial Plaza. The meeting was presided over by President Xavier Heard. The boards reviewed the finances of 2013 and set a budget for 2014. Quad State Bass Club Tournament Director Richard Johnson reviewed last years tournaments. The board discussed various issued and made changes in some tournament rules. One of note was the ban of Alabama type lures in Quad State Bass Club events. The board overturned this rule and these type lures may be used at Quad State Bass Club Tournaments. Elections were also held for the next two years. Treasure, Richard Johnson Sol Pro Bass Masters Tournament Director, Harold Ford Metro Area Bass Club Little Rock, AR Secreatary. Bobby Wilson of the Metro Area Bass Club resigned his position as Vice President and the board elected George Penton of 21st Century Bass Club St Louis, MO. as Vice President. Jordan Lane and Ken Masters of the Osprey Bass Anglers took first place at Lake Toledo Bend, Hemphill, TX with 24.06 pounds.
